Wiltshire is home to Salisbury Cathedral, whose 123-metre spire is the tallest in Britain and whose chapter house keeps one of the four surviving copies of Magna Carta. Away from Salisbury, chalk downland villages and market towns such as Marlborough and Devizes maintain parish churches of real character.
